(1) Inspect the oil pipes and pipe connections for any signs of oil leakage. Address any identified issues promptly.
(2) Check the oil level in the oil pan of the diesel generator set.
- Withdraw the dipstick located beside the crankcase and observe whether the oil level meets the specified requirements.
If not, add oil accordingly.
- For diesel engines in “winter”, use “No. 8 or No. 11 diesel engine oil”.
- For ”summer“, use “No. 14 diesel engine oil”.
Note: If the oil level is found to be above the specified range, carefully analyze the possible causes of the increased oil level. Common reasons include:
- a. Overfilling during oil addition.
- b. Dilution of oil due to diesel fuel leaking into the crankcase.
- c. Coolant leaking into the oil.
